In chapter 5, Phil asks Nate to do something quite outside of his comfort zone. What are some words that come to mind that describe how Nate was feeling when his task was set? When you respond, try to think of very interesting words - maybe not words you would typically use.
For example, if I wanted to describe Nate as being happy, I could use the following words in place of happy:
content
pleased
blissful
exultant
ecstatic
delighted
Use a thesaurus if you need help.
addled
ReplyDeleteJay, why would you say addled? What makes Nate addled in this situation?
ReplyDeleteAddled means confused. The reason he was addled was because Phil asked him to do something out of his comfort zone.
ReplyDeleteHe was addled because he was supposed to fix the propeller.
ReplyDeleteI love addled! Great word, Jay. Thanks for putting it into context for us.
ReplyDeleteI thought that Nate felt dumbfounded. He was struck dumb by his Aunt's request to climb out on the wing of the plane as it was flying with nothing between him and the ground except the rope that tethered him to the plane.
ReplyDeleteMischievously baffled
ReplyDeleteAustin - another great description of how Nate felt! Baffled means to confuse, bewilder, or perplex.
ReplyDeleteIt was either stalling or the tretorus journy. Opion 2 had a chance of survival. When he did it, he absolutly exaggerated 1,000,000 times more! I bet he was exostid, terrifide, and amased. He felt extrordanarily amased and amused.
ReplyDeleteWhat great words, David! You're a natural at this!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
